BODY BUTTER

I recently started reading up on all of the chemicals and additives that most store-bought beauty products contained, and I realized that I was spending a lot of time putting healthy food IN my body, but I was putting a lot of unhealthy things ON my body. I decided to start making my own homemade beauty products, and I am hoping that all of you enjoy the recipes (this means you too gentlemen!).
This recipe is for a thick and creamy body butter that is made from all natural ingredients. A little goes a long way, and it will make your skin silky and soft. It may feel a little greasy for the first minute or two after you rub it into your skin, but after that you will have the softest skin you can imagine! If you add some essential oils your skin will also smell great. I like to store mine in latch-lid jars, but any sealable container will work. You can also try these DIY Lotion Bars which are perfect for purses, gym bags and travel. Enjoy!

Body Butter
What You Will Need:
- 1 cup Coconut Oil
- 1/3 cup Almond Oil
- Essential Oils (optional)
- Measuring cup
- Mixing bowl
- Hand mixer
- 1 cup Coconut Oil
- 1/3 cup Almond Oil
- Essential Oils (optional)
- Measuring cup
- Mixing bowl
- Hand mixer
How To Do It:
1. Place the coconut oil, almond oil and a few drops of essential oil (optional) into a mixing bowl. Blend with a hand mixer until well combined and creamy (about 2-3 minutes). If you are using essential oils, smell the mixture and see if the scent is strong enough for your liking. If not, add a few more drops of oil and blend for a few more seconds. It's that easy!
Note: This will produce a thick body butter. If you like a thinner lotion, you can thin yours out by adding more almond oil until you get the consistency that you like.
