The Misto Olive Oil Sprayer claims to holds any liquid oil, vinegar, juice, etc. and can be used for a variety of purposes. Now that I live a Paleo lifestyle, I don't use store-bought cooking sprays anymore because they are filled with chemicals and non-paleo oils, so this seemed like the perfect alternative.
I have heard mixed reviews about the Misto, so I decided to try it out and see for myself. Once you learn the correct way to use it (only fill it halfway and do not over-pump), you may fall in love with it just like I did. Check out the details below to see the good, the bad, and how it stacked up in the kitchen!

THE GOOD
Great alternative to store bought cooking sprays that contain chemical-filled oils.
THE BAD
Mister can clog easily over time if not cleaned regularly. Only works with liquid oils such as olive oil or nut oils.
THE BASICS
The Misto Olive Oil Sprayer holds any liquid oil, vinegar, juice, etc. and can be used for a variety of purposes.
To work the Misto, you just pump the top a few times to fill the canister with air, and then you can spray oil for about 10 seconds. It is not a spray can propelled by chemicals, so you do have to pump it, but that is a small trade off for chemical-free cooking. This is a great way to use quality oils to coat baking tins, cover vegetables for roasting, evenly distribute oils and vinegars on salad, or coat your proteins before grilling.
The Misto Olive Oil Sprayer comes in a few different colors such as red, purple or blue if you want something more exciting than brushed aluminum. They also offer a Misto Two-Pack, complete with labels, so you can keep more than one Paleo friendly oil or vinegar handy.
PERFORMANCE
I combined garlic and our favorite herbs and some olive oil inside the Misto, which made a nice and flavorful spray for meats and salads. We used it for a month straight and did not have any issue with clogging. The Misto takes up little space and is attractive enough to place on the dinner table for guests to use.
THE BOTTOM LINE
This is a great alternative to store-bought cooking sprays. I love the Misto and I can't recommend it enough!
