Below is Part 1 of my favorite brands and products that I believe to be an essential part of my paleo lifestyle, and that I just can't live without!
Honeyville Farms Almond Flour Honeyville Farms is my favorite almond flour to use. I actually wont use any other brands because I have found this one to be far superior to the rest. The flour is very finely ground and produces much better results, especially in baking, than any other almond flour I have tried. The price for a 5 lb. bag is very reasonable and actually comes out to $7 per pound as compared to $10 or more for some other brands. |
Red Boat Fish Sauce Red Boat fish sauce is both the purest and best tasting that I have tried. It is made of fresh caught wild black anchovies and sea salt and is not processed, making it paleo friendly, unlike many of the other brands on the market. It also does not contain added water, preservatives or MSG. I use this frequently in my cooking and always have an extra bottle on hand in case I run out. |
Y.S. Eco Bee Farms Raw Honey Using the wrong raw honey can make a BIG difference in your recipes. I have tried some brands that were just horrible tasting, and poor quality honey will really impact the flavor of your cooking and baking. I have two favorite raw honey brands that I will use. One is Tropical Traditions, which is not processed and tastes incredible. The other brand is Y.S. Eco Bee Farms Raw Honey which is also unheated, unfiltered and unpasteurized and tastes just as amazing. |
Sea Tangle Kelp Noodles Sea Tangle Kelp Noodles are another item I always keep stocked in my fridge. They are made only from kelp, salt extracted from seaweed, and water. They are gluten-free and can be used in so many different recipes. I like to toss them together with some vegetables, protein and an easy sauce when I am short on time and need a healthy and delicious meal. |
Amy & Brian Coconut Juice If you haven't heard me mention this before...I used to HATE coconut water. Every brand I tried just tasted gross and I wanted nothing to do with it. That was...of course...until I tried Amy & Brian coconut juice. It is so much better than all others I have tried, and I have to keep these stocked on hand at all times. Everyone in my family loves them and we go through them pretty quickly. |
Coconut Secret Coconut Aminos Before paleo, I used soy sauce quite a bit in my cooking...marinades, dressings, stir-fry, you name it. Now that I do not use soy products, I had to find an alternative. Coconut secret coconut aminos are made from raw organic sap and sea salt, and the taste is almost identical to soy sauce. This product allows you to still get the essential amino acids that our bodies need, but in a paleo and gluten-free way. |
Dragonfly Sweet Potato Vermicelli Dragonfly Sweet Potato Vermicelli are made of only sweet potato starch and water, and make a nice filler for a meal with proteins and vegetables. They are not an everyday food, but are a nice treat to have when you are craving noodles. I only use a small amount with my meals and the bag lasts a very long time, making them a good value, plus they are delicious and have a nice texture. |
Natural Value Coconut Milk This coconut milk is made from pure coconut extract and water, and does not contain any added guar gum, preservatives or stabilizers like most of the other coconut milk brands. It works well in both cooking and baking and has a nice thickness to it, despite not having any additives. The product is also packaged in BPA-free cans, which is an added bonus. |
Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil Tropical Traditions Gold Label Coconut Oil is by far the best coconut oil I have used. All of my cooking and baked goods turn out better when using this product. It is unrefined and no chemicals or high-heat treatments are used in its preparation. Tropical Traditions frequently has sales on their coconut oil and other great products, which makes it an even better deal! |
Spiral Vegetable Slicer This is a can't live without item for me. I can't stress enough how much I love this thing!!! It took over the spot on my counter where my toaster used to be. This tool allows you to turn many types of vegetables into noodles., my favorite being zucchini. This is great for people like myself who enjoy pasta and want a healthy substitute. |
